Creative Gaming: Make Your Own Controllers

Let’s Create! In partnership with the Art Gallery of Mississauga, experience art everywhere with a monthly artist led workshop where you can learn and create.

Kadeem Dunn, a local game designer and member of the Hand Eye Society, will lead participants through making their own game controllers, which will be used to play video games on the big screens.

These game controllers will be created using a variety of tools such as Makey Makes, Unity and Arduino. Is it suitable for anybody and does not require previous knowledge of these tools.

Featured video games have been created by local games designers and include:

Disco is Dead. An award winning game developed by students from Sheridan’s Game Design Program.

Proxima Command. Developed by local game design team Michael Chapman and Bob Papdopolous.

Like Camping. Developed by local game designer smolghost.

Art on the Square is a partnership between Celebration Square and the Art Gallery of Mississauga.
