Call to Public Art Curators – Expression of Interest (EOI)

Indigenous Art Trail

The City of Mississauga seeks to commission a professional Indigenous public art curator to assist with the development of a waterfront Indigenous Art Trail. In this role, the curator will develop a community-informed public art plan and lead the commissioning process for three public art projects by Indigenous artists.

The curator will work in partnership with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation and the City of Mississauga Public Art Program.

Public art along the waterfront presents opportunities for reconciliation, relationship-building and artistic expression through storytelling. The Indigenous Art Trail will acknowledge Mississauga's Indigenous history and culture and enhance the visibility of the many Indigenous and First Nations people that have a connection to Mississauga as their home. By celebrating and honouring Indigenous peoples, their culture, history and how they are connected to Mississauga and its history, the Indigenous Art Trail will contribute to the process of reconciliation.
