In 2006, the Museums of Mississauga saved a collection of images of the corporate history of Mississauga mainly taken by long-time city employee Kirk French. The collection includes over 6,000 photographs ranging from community centre openings, staff awards and bus driver uniforms. The collection mainly dates from the 1980s-1990s. The collection illustrates the growth of the Corporation of the City of Mississauga within the context of a constantly evolving city. The City honours the memory of Kirk French through the "Kirk French Spirit Award" recognizing a city employee for their positive and supportive attitude.
